KPEZDMC engages PEDO on affordable energy for economic zones

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC), along with his senior team, visited Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO) Head Office for a focused meeting with his counterpart and senior management of both organizations on provision of affordable and reliable electricity to Economic Zones across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

CEO KPEZDMC highlighted that competitively priced power is critical for industrial clients and investors.

He emphasized the need to bridge the existing gap between power production and productive power consumption, in line with the provincial government’s industrialization agenda.

Both sides agreed that PEDO’s hydropower potential can support KP’s industrial competitiveness through practical, legally viable, and financially sustainable mechanisms.

A focused group comprising KPEZDMC, PEDO, and industrialists as Primary stakeholders was proposed to take the discussion forward.

This engagement reflects KPEZDMC’s continued effort to facilitate investors and convert KP’s energy potential into industrial growth, investment, and job creation.
