PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) A team of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) paid a field visit to Nathiagali and advised potential hotels and restaurants to comply with relevant laws and ensure timely deposit of true and accurate sales tax on services.
The visit was conducted on the directives of Collector Sales Tax on Services (KPRA), Muhammad Abbas Khan at the onset of the tourist season.The team also identified newly constructed commercial buildings with the aim of bringing them into the tax net.
The team reviewed the registration status of operating establishments, conducted awareness sessions regarding invoicing requirements, and emphasized the mandatory issuance of proper tax invoices. Spot checks were carried out to verify compliance with applicable tax provisions, and non-compliant units were warned to take immediate corrective measures.
The visit also focused on expanding the tax base, encouraging voluntary registration, and strengthening enforcement to enhance revenue collection during the peak tourist season.
In addition, the team conducted enforcement drives against unregistered businesses, collected relevant business data for profiling potential taxpayers, and issued notices to defaulting units for registration and tax compliance.
Meetings were also held with business representatives to create awareness regarding tax obligations and facilitate ease of compliance.
The team further monitored active taxpayers to ensure proper filing of returns and timely tax payments, while identifying high-potential sectors to maximize revenue collection during the tourist influx.
