Kundi condemns cross-border shelling in Bajaur

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Apr, 2026) Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has strongly condemned the loss of precious human lives in Bajaur as a result of cross-border shelling, terming the incident deeply tragic and highly condemnable.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the governor denounced the targeting of innocent civilians, particularly women and children, calling it a grave crime against humanity.

He expressed heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the attack.

Kundi reaffirmed that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully prepared to safeguard the country’s borders and are capable of delivering a strong and effective response to any act of aggression.

He said that Pakistan believes in peace, but regretted that elements from across the border, including Afghan Taliban, have repeatedly attempted to undermine regional peace and security.
