KUST holds open forum, VC assures upgradation of facilities and digital reforms

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) In line with directives of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister and Provincial Minister for Higher education Meena Khan Afridi, Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST)on Tuesday organized an open forum for students and parents under the supervision of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Zafar Ilyas.

During the interactive session, the Vice Chancellor directly engaged with students, listening to their concerns, suggestions, and queries. Students raised issues related to teaching facilities, shortage of modern multimedia equipment in classrooms, upgrading of IT infrastructure, and the need for greater focus on sports and co-curricular activities.

Prof. Dr. Syed Zafar Ilyas assured participants that the university, despite limited resources, is prioritizing measures to address these challenges.

He reaffirmed his commitment to modernizing the institution, highlighting digitization as a key focus area to align students with contemporary academic and professional requirements.

The event was attended by senior faculty and administrative officials, including deans of various faculties, directors of key departments, and administrative heads, reflecting broad institutional participation in the dialogue process.

Concluding the session, the Vice Chancellor directed relevant departments to take immediate steps for resolving the issues raised and stressed that timely action and improved communication with stakeholders remain central to the university’s reform agenda.
