Labour Day ceremony reaffirms commitment to workers’ rights

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd May, 2026) A Labour Day ceremony was held at the Punjab Arts Council Rawalpindi on Sunday in collaboration with the Pakistan Muslim League (N) Labour Wing District Rawalpindi, reaffirming commitment to workers’ rights and welfare.

Senator Nasir Mahmood Butt, Senior leader Tahira Aurangzeb MNA and Hafiz Abdullah Butt were the chief guests, while MPAs Shazia Rizwan and Asma Abbasi also attended the event.

The event was organized by office-bearers of the Labour Wing and attended by a large number of party workers and local representatives.

Among those present were Divisional President Khalid Saeed Butt, District President Malik Tariq Bashir, President District Murree Bashir Ahmed Satti, Naib Nambardar Asad Satti, Coordinator District Murree Qaiser Imtiaz Satti, Educational Coordinator Chaudhry Abdul Rashid, Legal Advisor Mubashar Zohar Abbasi, President PP-17 Shehzad Ahmed Abbasi, Vice President Faisal Raja, Senior Vice President Hamad Abbasi, Coordinator Patwar Town Maulvi Abdul Rashid Awan, and Taxila Coordinator Alam Khan.

Speakers said labourers are the backbone of the economy and stressed that Labour Day represents solidarity with workers and a commitment to safeguarding their rights. They called for practical measures to address long-standing issues faced by the working class.

Senator Nasir Mahmood Butt appreciated the arrangements and congratulated the Labour Wing and Punjab Arts Council Rawalpindi for successfully organising the event.

Senior journalists Muhammad Iqbal Awan, Nisar Kiani, Sardar Talha Javaid Khan and Amjad Khan also attended the ceremony and highlighted the importance of focusing on labour issues.
