Lahore: Easter plan complete, 3,076 police personnel to guard 647 churches

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Apr, 2026) Foolproof arrangements have been completed for the security of 647 churches in the city on the occasion of Easter.

130 lady police personnel are also included in the 3,076 officers and soldiers, while 526 personnel will be present at parks and other recreational places for security.

According to DIG Operations, a plan has also been drawn up to monitor all churches with CCTV cameras. Separate security teams will be deployed for parking areas around the churches.

He said that in addition to the Dolphin and Peru teams, 16 elite and special squads will be on patrol.

Divisional SPs, SDPOs and SHOs will personally monitor the security fence, while instructions have also been issued to keep walk-through gates, metal detectors and checking points active.
