Lahore roof collapse: 4 killed, six injured as rescue operation continues

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Jul, 2026) At least four people were killed and six others injured after the roof of a house collapsed in Bhatta Muhammad Din Colony near Sukh Nehar Stop in Lahore late Wednesday night, while rescue workers continued efforts on Thursday to locate another woman believed to be trapped under the debris.

According to Rescue 1122, emergency teams, including the Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) unit, rushed to the site soon after receiving the emergency call and launched a rescue operation that continued through the night and into Wednesday.

The injured were pulled from the rubble, provided first aid and shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. Rescue officials said 10 emergency vehicles and 40 rescuers were participating in the operation.

The deceased were identified as Shahida, 60, wife of Shahid; Samina, 52, wife of Abbas; Mujahid, 25, son of Shahid; and Hamad, 7, son of Abbas.

The injured included Saneha, 19, Sehar, 14, Shahid, 50, Sabir, 44, Nasir, 23, and Zahid, 35. They sustained multiple injuries, including blunt trauma and cuts, and were shifted to Services Hospital and other nearby medical facilities.

Meanwhile, according to relatives present at the site, one more woman was feared trapped beneath the debris. Rescue personnel were continuing search and rescue efforts to locate and recover her.

The cause of the roof collapse has yet to be ascertained, while the rescue operation remained underway at the time of filing this report.
