Lahore traffic plan finalised for HBL PSL 2026 opener match today

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Dr Athar Waheed says around 900 traffic personnel will be deployed to ensure smooth flow of traffic and facilitate cricket fans  

LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-March 26^th, 2026) The Lahore Traffic policy have put in place a detailed traffic management strategy for the opening match of PSL 2026 between Lahore Qalandars and Hyderabad Kings, set to take place today at Gaddafi Stadium.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Dr Athar Waheed stated that nearly 900 traffic officials will be on duty to maintain uninterrupted traffic flow and assist spectators heading to the venue.

He warned that illegal parking in and around the stadium will not be tolerated, adding that recovery vehicles, including forklifts and breakdown units, will remain alert to clear any blockages without delay.

The CTO clarified that no road will be shut on a permanent basis for the event, ensuring that key routes such as Mall Road, Jail Road and Canal Road remain accessible for commuters.

He further noted that traffic on Ferozepur Road and Main Boulevard Gulberg will proceed normally.

Dr Athar Waheed expressed confidence that the arrangements will prevent major inconvenience to the public and urged citizens to follow traffic guidelines.

He added that commuters will receive timely updates through the Rasta App and Rasta FM 88.6 to help them plan their travel effectively.
