In a letter to the Suthra Punjab Authority, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Rahim recommended banning heavy waste vehicles from busy roads during peak hours and restricting cleaning operations on major roads to between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.

The CTO said four accidents involving Suthra Punjab and LWMC vehicles in 2025-26 had claimed 10 lives. He also called for stricter monitoring and training of drivers and legal action against those found negligent.

Separately, the CTO suspended the driving licenses of 68 motorists involved in traffic accidents, warning that licenses would be suspended immediately in fatal and serious injury crashes, with violators facing legal action.
