Large consignment of arms smuggling foiled, two arrested

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Apr, 2026) Kohat Police, acting on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Shahbaz Elahi, achieved a major breakthrough in their ongoing crackdown against criminal elements and foiled an attempt to smuggle a large consignment of illegal arms.

According to Kohat police on Sunday, a team led by DSP Headquarters Imaduddin and SHO KDA Police Station Umar Khaliq intercepted two suspects, identified as Ibrahim and Yousaf, residents of Sadda, during a checkpoint operation.

The suspects were allegedly attempting to transport weapons from Darra Adam Khel to Sadda in Kurram District.

During the operation, police recovered 18 MP-5 rifles and 90 pistols from their possession. Both suspects were arrested and a case has been registered against them at KDA Police Station.

Further investigation is underway and officials expect more revelations.

DPO Shahbaz Elahi reaffirmed that the crackdown against criminal networks will continue without discrimination to ensure public safety and eliminate illegal arms trafficking in the region.
