TALAGANG, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) Provincial Lawmaker and a senior government Adviser, Shehryar Malik pledged to accelerate the digitisation of the excise system and step up anti-narcotics efforts, with a particular focus on addressing local challenges in the district, the officials source said on Wednesday.
MPA, Shehryar Malik, Parliamentary Secretary for excise, taxation and narcotics control in Punjab, met Adviser to the Punjab Chief Minister on Artificial Intelligence and Special Initiatives, Ali Dar to discuss reforms in revenue collection, public service delivery and drug control measures.
The meeting reviewed plans to modernize the excise framework, improve efficiency in tax collection and expand digital services to facilitate citizens.
They also examined strategies to curb the spread of narcotics and strengthen enforcement capacity at the regional level.
Dar said the provincial government was prioritising the digitisation of the excise system to ensure transparency in taxation and enhance monitoring mechanisms.
He added that the use of modern technology would improve revenue generation and make public services more accessible, while supporting ongoing anti-narcotics operations.
Malik highlighted challenges faced by residents of Talagang, particularly in accessing excise-related services, and stressed the need for more effective action against drug trafficking.
He welcomed the government’s initiatives and expressed his commitment to supporting reforms aimed at improving service delivery in the area.
