LDA seals 155 illegal commercial properties

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) On the directions of Director General Taher Farooq, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has intensified its crackdown against illegal commercial properties, sealing a total of 155 properties in various areas of the city.

According to LDA’s Public Relations Directorate, enforcement teams of the Town Planning Wing carried out operations in Shadman Colony, Gulshan Ravi, Gujjarpura, Audit and Accounts Scheme, Gulberg, Faisal Town, and Allama Iqbal Town.

During the operation, 35 properties were sealed in Gulshan Ravi, Shadman Colony, and Gujjarpura over illegal commercial use. Meanwhile, 90 properties in the Audit and Accounts Scheme were sealed due to non-payment of commercialisation fees, while 20 properties in Gulberg and Faisal Town were also sealed on similar grounds.

Additionally, 10 properties were sealed in Allama Iqbal Town during a recovery operation.

The sealed properties include marriage halls, marquees, private banks, schools, colleges, academies, auto workshops, electric stores, restaurants, food outlets, grocery stores, bakeries, beauty salons, pharmacies, clinics, shops, and offices.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Chief Town Planner-I Asaduz Zaman and Chief Town Planner-II Azhar Ali.

DG LDA Taher Farooq stated that indiscriminate action against illegal commercial buildings and defaulters of commercialisation fees will continue without exception.
