LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Feb 16th, 2026) Medical experts of Lahore General Hospital, including Dr. Muhammad Maqsood, Dr. Laila Shafiq, Dr. Faiza Khalid and Dr. Anam Batool, have advised citizens to prioritize their health alongside spiritual devotion during the holy month of Ramadan.
They highlighted that patients with chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease or hypertension must consult their doctors to adjust medication and insulin schedules before fasting.
The experts urged the public to avoid fried, oily foods and sugary drinks like cold drinks etc during Iftar, recommending a switch to fruits, vegetables and fiber-rich meals instead.
Furthermore, they highlighted that pregnant women should prioritize their well-being, parents should ensure children fast only according to their physical capacity and everyone should maintain adequate hydration to ensure a healthy and safe Ramadan experience.
