LGH rejects reports of lack of medical facilities in Surgery dept

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th May, 2026) The administration of Lahore General Hospital (LGH) has strongly rejected reports published in a local newspaper regarding the alleged non-availability of medical supplies for patients in the hospital’s Surgery department.

Medical Superintendent of Lahore General Hospital Dr Faryad Hussain said on Tuesday that the news circulating in the media and on social platforms claiming that the hospital administration is not providing medical facilities to patients and referring plastic surgery cases to Jinnah Hospital is completely false and baseless.

He said that under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, free treatment facilities are being provided to patients in the Plastic Surgery department of the hospital.

Dr Faryad Hussain clarified that the medical examination receipt of a patient being shared on social media and linked with General Hospital actually belong to Jinnah Hospital and has no connection with Lahore General Hospital administration.

He said, "Plastic Surgery department of the hospital comprises 20 beds and outpatient services are being provided two days a week. Around 150 patients are examined during each outpatient session, while patients are also being admitted and provided surgical facilities according to their medical needs."

The Medical Superintendent said all available resources at General Hospital are being utilized round the clock for the welfare of patients and provision of the best healthcare facilities. He added that providing quality medical treatment and better healthcare services to patients remains the hospital’s top priority, while all departments are performing their duties with professional commitment.
