LHC CJ Neelum emphasises the importance of cooperation between lawyers and the judiciary to eliminate pending cases and implement judicial reforms
LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Feb 17th, 2026) Lahore High Court Chief Justice Miss Aalia Neelum on Tuesday met with delegations from various District and Tehsil Bar Associations of Punjab.
LHC CJ Neelum emphasised the importance of cooperation between lawyers and the judiciary to eliminate pending cases and implement judicial reforms.
Chief Justice Aalia Neelum stated that the Chief Justice of Pakistan's vision is to prioritize resolving issues faced by Bar Associations in underdeveloped and remote areas to improve the judicial system. E-libraries and solar systems are being provided to Bar Associations in judicial complexes across the province.
The LHC has introduced new reforms using modern technology. New Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for biometric verification in case filings have been approved and will be issued soon.
Lawyers' cooperation is essential to address pending cases, implement reforms, and resolve issues faced by the bar. Litigants are the Primary stakeholders in the judicial system, and discouraging the strike culture is necessary, acknowledging their difficulties.
The Bar Associations appreciated the Chief Justice's efforts and highlighted issues faced by lawyers. Chief Justice Aalia Neelum assured that resolving problems of Bar Associations, particularly women and young lawyers, is a top priority, and all available resources are being utilized.
The meeting was attended by the representatives from District Bar Associations of Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Jhang, Layyah, Lodhran, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, and Tehsil Bar Associations of Bhera, Kharian, Kabirwala, and Gujar Khan. Registrar Lahore High Court, Amjad Iqbal Ranjha also graced the occasion.
