LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jul, 2026) The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday dismissed the interim bail petition of Ali Akbar Gul, the prime suspect in a Rs140 million cheque dishonour case, while granting interim bail to his father.

Justice Abher Gul Khan heard the interim bail petitions filed by Ali Akbar Gul and his father. Both petitioners appeared before the court along with their counsel, while lawyers for both sides concluded their arguments.

During the hearing, the police informed the court that Ali Akbar Gul, a grain market trader, had been found involved in the offence during the investigation.

However, investigators said his father had been found innocent.

After hearing the arguments, the court rejected Ali Akbar Gul's interim bail plea and confirmed interim bail for his father.

Soon after the order was announced, Ali Akbar Gul allegedly attempted to flee from the court premises. The move triggered a scuffle outside the courtroom between the suspect and members of the complainant's party.

Police personnel, assisted by the complainant's party, overpowered and apprehended the suspect.
