LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday upheld the decision of a trial

court about death sentence on two counts against Ali Shan involved

in a double murder case of two brothers.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Farooq Haider and Justice

Ali Zia Bajwa dismissed the appeal filed by the convict against the

trial court’s verdict.

During the hearing, Deputy Prosecutor General Haroon ur Rasheed

informed the court that Ali Shan had opened indiscriminate fire on two

brothers- Liaqat and Khalid, outside their residence over a dispute.

He stated that after emptying one magazine, the accused reloaded

another and continued firing, killing both brothers on the spot.

The prosecutor further argued that eyewitness accounts, police investigation,

medical reports and witness testimonies fully supported the case against

the convict. The court was also informed that the trial court had awarded

death sentence on two counts after reviewing the evidence and hearing

arguments from both sides.

The defence counsel sought acquittal of the convict; however, the bench

observed that motive, recovery of evidence and the presence of witnesses

at the crime scene had been proven.

Subsequently, the court dismissed the appeal and maintained the death

sentence awarded to Ali Shan.
