RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th May, 2026) The Livestock Department Punjab has intensified monitoring and inspection activities across cattle markets, inter-district, and inter-provincial checkpoints in the Rawalpindi Division to ensure the health, safety of sacrificial animals ahead of Eid ul Azha.
The measures have been taken on the directives of Director Livestock Rawalpindi Division Dr Naveed Sehar Zaidi and Additional Director Dr Arshad Latif.
Authorities said that all major entry and exit points are under strict surveillance, while trained veterinary staff has been deployed round the clock to monitor the movement of animals.
The teams are conducting medical examinations, spraying disinfectants, and providing first aid facilities to prevent the spread of infectious diseases among livestock.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>In view of this, preventive measures have been further strengthened to control any potential outbreak of contagious diseases and ensure a safe environment for livestock traders and buyers.
The Livestock Department stated that facilitating livestock farmers remains a top priority. Citizens have also been urged to report any sick or suspicious animals to the nearest veterinary hospital or field staff and strictly follow the issued guidelines.
The department reaffirmed its commitment to utilizing all available resources to ensure the provision of healthy sacrificial animals to the public.
