Livestock Director orders uninterrupted veterinary services at flood relief camps

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jul, 2026) Director Livestock Dr. Haider Ali Khan visited flood-affected areas of Chiniot district to assess operations, inspect veterinary services for stranded livestock and direct field teams to maintain round-the-clock preparedness to safeguard both human lives and animals amid prevailing flood situation.

During visit, he inspected flood relief camps established at Adda Jamia Abad Muhammadi Sharif and Adda Pathankot Bhawana, where he reviewed ongoing relief activities, flood preparedness measures and veterinary assistance being provided to livestock owned by affected farmers.

Additional Director Livestock Chiniot Dr. Atta Subhani, Dr. Salman Shabbir Bhatti, Deputy Director Livestock Bhawana and Deputy Director Livestock Chiniot Dr. Muhammad Wajid accompanied him during the inspection.

The Livestock Director examined the availability of veterinary staff, emergency medicines, vaccines and mobile veterinary services at the relief camps.

He also reviewed arrangements made for safe evacuation, shelter and protection of livestock from flood-hit localities.

Haider Ali Khan received a detailed briefing from Rescue 1122 officials and officers of other relevant departments regarding the current flood situation, available resources, emergency response measures and coordinated arrangements for the timely evacuation of people and animals from vulnerable areas.

He directed all concerned departments to maintain effective coordination, close inter-agency cooperation, round-the-clock operational readiness and an immediate response mechanism throughout the flood emergency so that every possible step could be taken for the protection of human lives and livestock.

Later, the Director Livestock visited the office of Deputy Director Livestock, Bhawana, Chiniot, where he reviewed departmental performance, flood emergency preparedness and ongoing field operations.

He instructed the livestock officers and field teams to ensure uninterrupted provision of veterinary services, medicines and timely assistance to livestock farmers in flood-affected areas.

He emphasized that protecting livestock was imperative for safeguarding the livelihoods of rural communities during emergency.
