Local holiday observed in Bahawalpur for Mela Channan Pir

BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Mar, 2026) A local holiday was observed in Bahawalpur district on Thursday regarding Mela Channan Pir observance.

All offices of the district government, courts, and various public institutions remained closed in accordance with the orders issued by the Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur.

Mela Channan Pir is held over seven consecutive Thursdays, with the fifth Thursday considered the most significant.

On this special day, devotees from across the region gather at the shrine of Channan Pir. A large traditional fair is also organised to mark the occasion. Thousands of devotees visited the shrine of Hazrat Channan Pir, offered Fateha, and participated in the annual celebrations' activities.
