Loralai Police step up preparations for peaceful Muharram observance

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jun, 2026) District Police in Loralai have intensified preparations to ensure foolproof security and the peaceful observance of Muharram.

A high-level meeting chaired by SSP Loralai Dr Fahad Ahmed brought together officials from WAPDA, religious scholars, representatives of the Hazara community, district traders’ association leaders, municipal authorities, police officers, and other relevant institutions.

The meeting reviewed overall law and order arrangements, security for processions and gatherings, traffic management plans, the role of volunteers, surveillance of sensitive areas, and measures to promote inter-sect harmony.

Speaking at the session, SSP Dr Fahad Ahmed stressed that protecting citizens’ lives and property and ensuring the peaceful conduct of religious rituals during Muharram is the district police’s top priority.

He pledged that all available resources and manpower would be utilized effectively to maintain peace. He also praised the cooperation of scholars, community representatives, traders, and civil society, noting their vital role in fostering tolerance, brotherhood, and social harmony.

Citizens were urged to immediately report any suspicious activity to law enforcement agencies and avoid spreading unverified information or rumors.

The meeting also discussed a comprehensive security plan, which includes deploying additional personnel at sensitive locations, continuous monitoring of processions and gatherings, strict checking at entry and exit points, CCTV surveillance, and special measures to handle emergencies. Relevant departments were instructed to strengthen coordination and communication.

Participants assured full cooperation with the police to maintain peace and promote religious harmony during Muharram. It was also decided that central procession routes would be kept clean, well-lit, and supplied with uninterrupted electricity. Emergency medical aid and rescue services will remain on alert to respond promptly to any untoward incident.
