LWMC intensifies citywide cleanliness ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Mar, 2026) The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has accelerated its citywide cleanliness operation ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

According to a press release issued here on Thursday, under the directive of Suthra Punjab Authority Director General Babar Sahib Din, cleaning activities are being carried out round the clock in three shifts. Special arrangements have been made at key public locations, including railway stations, bus stands, commercial markets and other high-traffic areas.

Over 15,000 sanitation workers and more than 1,600 cleaning operational vehicles have been mobilized to maintain cleanliness during Eid-ul-Fitr.

Cleaning operations are also underway at Eidgahs, major Mosques and along routes leading to graveyards.

The LWMC sanitation teams are ensuring cleanliness activities at over 1,500 grand Mosques, 275 graveyards and 192 commercial markets across the city.

A central control room has been established to digitally monitor the Eid cleanliness operation and ensure timely response to sanitation issues.
