Major development push in Harnai, 55 schools, 4 health centers revived: DC

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Harnai, Mir Arshad Hussain Jamali, has announced significant progress in the district’s development, aligning with the vision of Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti.

Talking to APP on Monday, Arshad Hussain Jamali revealed that 55 previously non-functional schools in Harnai District have been fully activated, ensuring teacher attendance and student enrollment.

He confirmed that four health centers have also been restored to full functionality. In addition, more than 140 vacant posts across education, health, and other departments have been filled on merit, providing employment opportunities to local youth.

Arshad Jamali added that the district administration would ensure full security arrangements during the construction of Quetta-Harnai highway.

During Ramazan, rations packages provided by the Chief Minister for poor and deserving families were distributed transparently, earning satisfaction from citizens, political parties, and provincial leadership.

Arshad Jamali stressed that government offices are being monitored to ensure staff attendance, warning that no employee will be allowed to draw salaries without fulfilling duties.

On disaster response, DC Jamali noted that following heavy rains, relief items including tents, household items and food supplies were delivered to affected families in areas such as Gud Ghoja and Mohalla Ghareebabad. He assured that victims would not be left alone in this difficult time.

He also inspected key roads with his team, reviewing traffic flow, drainage systems, and public safety measures. Instructions were issued to administration and staff to remain active, assist travelers, and keep machinery ready near streams and flood-prone areas to respond swiftly to emergencies.

Arshad Hussain Jamali urged citizens to adopt precautionary measures, avoid unnecessary travel during rains, and cooperate with the administration. He reaffirmed that the district administration is committed to safeguarding lives and property, ensuring relief, and maintaining safe travel conditions across Harnai.
