The bench comprising Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan and Justice Tariq Mahmood Bajwa declared the sentences void on technical grounds and ordered the release of the accused from Adiala Jail.

An Additional District and Sessions Judge in Rawalpindi had, on December 18, 2025, sentenced the accused, Usman Anwar son of Muhammad Anwar, to double death penalties for the murders of his two daughters, 13-year-old Anosh and five-year-old Lareeb.
