RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Apr, 2026) The Waris Khan Police have apprehended a man for making a bogus call to the Emergency Helpline 15, a Rawalpindi Police spokesman said on Wednesday.
According to the first information report, the caller claimed that the main gate locks of his house had been broken and that cash worth Rs500,000 and jewellery valued at Rs1 million had been stolen.
A Waris Khan Police team rushed to the spot and conducted an inquiry but found no evidence of any theft. Instead, it was established that the caller had deliberately made a false and misleading call to the emergency helpline.
The police registered a case and took the suspect into custody.
Superintendent of Police Rawal Saad Arshad said that the Helpline 15 was an emergency facility for citizens and warned that those misusing it would face strict legal action.
