Man arrested for hurling threats to Polio workers in Naseerabad

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) Police have arrested a man accused of harassing polio workers, resisting government officials, and issuing threats during an anti-polio campaign in the Naseerabad area.

According to police spokesperson, the incident occurred when polio workers attempted to administer polio drops to a child, but the suspect allegedly resisted the vaccination process, misbehaved with the workers, and threatened them while obstructing official duties.

Acting swiftly, Naseerabad Police registered a case against the accused and took him into custody shortly after the incident.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Potohar Sardar Babar Mumtaz Khan appreciated performance of police team and said the arrested individual would be challaned with solid evidence to ensure legal action against him.

He urged citizens to cooperate with anti-polio teams to help protect children from the disease and discourage elements attempting to hinder public health campaigns.
