Man arrested over flaunting weapons, aerial firing on social media

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jul, 2026) The police arrested a man on charge of displaying weapons and uploading videos of aerial firing

on social media.

A police spokesman said on Monday that Station House Officer (SHO) Samanabad police station Talish Abbas

took prompt action after the videos surfaced on social media and arrested the accused, Abdul Hameed.

The accused had uploaded videos showing the display of weapons and aerial firing on social media which is sheer violation of the law.

During operation, police also recovered a weapon from the suspect. A case has been registered against him while further legal proceedings were under progress, he added.

Meanwhile, City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain said that the people involved in displaying weapons, resorting to aerial firing and promoting such activities on social media would not escape the law.

Such acts created fear and insecurity in the society and would be dealt with an iron hand, he added.
