Man climbs up date palm tree to escape arrest, rescued

A man who had climbed up a date palm tree to escape arrest by police, was brought down in an unusual rescue operation by a team of Rescue 1122 in Kot Chutta area after he failed to come down on his own

DERA GHAZI KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jun, 2026) A man who had climbed up a date palm tree to escape arrest by police, was brought down in an unusual rescue operation by a team of Rescue 1122 in Kot Chutta area after he failed to come down on his own.

The man managed to keep himself away from police but appeared stranded on the tree top in Basti Dambra near Naseer village. A police official, ASI Maqsood, immediately conveyed information to Rescue 1122 late Tuesday night telling them the man was unable to come down on his own.

The Rescue Control Room immediately dispatched a fire vehicle and a motorbike rescue team from the nearby Kot Chutta Rescue Station.

Rescuers initially attempted to access the individual using a ladder, but the extraordinary height of the tree made the effort unsuccessful.

Adopting an alternative strategy while ensuring all necessary safety measures, the team carefully cut the lower portion of the tree and managed to bring the man down safely. He was provided with first aid on the spot before being handed over to the police for further legal action.

Preliminary information indicated that the individual was a suspect wanted in a criminal case. Reportedly fearing arrest, he had climbed up the tree and refused to come down.
