Man held for making fake emergency call to helpline 15

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Mar, 2026) Police have arrested a man for making a fake emergency call to helpline 15 during crackdown here on Sunday.

According to police spokesperson, the accused contacted the emergency helpline claiming that three armed robbers held to commit a robbery against him.

Acting promptly on the call, Sadiqabad Police reached the scene and carried out an investigation.

However, no such incident was found to have occurred, and the caller’s report was determined to be false.

Police confirmed that the individual had deliberately made a bogus call to the emergency helpline.

A case has been registered against the suspect, who has since been taken into custody.

SP Rawal Saad Arshad reiterated that helpline 15 is a vital emergency service for citizens and warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found misusing it.
