Man held with 812 bottles of toxic liquor

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) Police on Wednesday arrested a suspect and recovered 812 bottles of locally manufactured toxic liquor during a snap checking operation in the jurisdiction of Gulshan Iqbal police station.

According to the spokesperson, a police team conducted blockade and snap checking at Hathi Chowk on Wahdat Road, where a suspicious vehicle was intercepted and the accused, identified as Iftikhar, was taken into custody.

The police recovered 12 bottles of liquor from a carton in the suspect’s possession, while over 800 bottles were recovered from the trunk of the vehicle.

In total, approximately 200 litres of toxic liquor were seized.

The spokesperson said the suspect intended to sell the liquor to citizens on the occasion of Eid.

A case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway.

SP Iqbal Town Sidra Khan appreciated the performance of SHO Gulshan Iqbal Iqrar Hussain and his team, adding that indiscriminate action against drug peddlers and liquor sellers will continue.
