Man killed, wife and son injured in Matani accident

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Mar, 2026) A man was killed while his wife and young son were injured in a traffic accident in the suburban area of Matani on the outskirts of Peshawar on Sunday.

According to police, the deceased was identified as Qari Muhammad Farooq, son of Noor Jahan, a resident of Matani. He was travelling on a motorcycle along with his wife and son, Hamdan, on their way to their village.

Police said when they reached the Ghazi Abad Chowk Bypass, a speeding car allegedly hit their motorcycle due to reckless driving. As a result of the collision, Qari Farooq, his wife and his son fell onto the road and were ran over by another car.

Qari Muhammad Farooq died on the spot, while his wife and son sustained injuries.

The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, while the motorcycle was completely damaged in the accident.

Police said that the driver of the first vehicle fled the scene and remains unidentified, while the second driver has been identified as Asim, a resident of Dara Adam Khel.A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
