Man nabbed with counterfeit Rs177,000 notes

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Apr, 2026) The Naseerabad Police on Wednesday nabbed a man and recovered counterfeit Currency notes with a face value of Rs177,000 from his possession, a Rawalpindi Police spokesman said.

According to the first information report, a police team of Naseerabad Police Station received information during patrol that a suspicious person was attempting to use fake currency.

Acting on the tip-off, the policemen intercepted the suspect and seized the counterfeit notes, taking him into custody.

Superintendent of Police Potohar Sardar Babar Mumtaz Khan said those defrauding citizens through forgery could not evade the law and would be dealt with strictly.
