Man sentenced to death for wife’s murder

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) A sessions court on Monday awarded death penalty to a man for the brutal murder of his wife, after the charges against him were proven.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Ejaz Ahmed Bosal announced the verdict upon completion of the trial, sentencing convict Muhammad Azam to death.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 300,000 on the convict.

According to the prosecution, the accused murdered his wife, Shabnam Bibi, by slitting her throat with a knife.

A case had been registered against him by Kahna police in 2025.
