MANSEHRA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) The Model Criminal Court Mansehra Thursday has sentenced a man to life imprisonment and imposed a heavy fine after finding him guilty in a murder case registered in 2024 within the jurisdiction of Lassan Nawab Police Station.
According to court proceedings, the convict, Noor-ur-Rehman son of Ali Muhammad, a resident of Bai Bohal and belonging to the Tanoli tribe, murdered the father of his son-in-law over a family dispute and issues related to a woman.
Police said the victim had travelled from Khalabat Township to Lassan Nawab to attend the funeral of a relative. While returning, the accused allegedly intercepted him and opened indiscriminate fire, killing him on the spot.
The case was registered at Lassan Nawab Police Station under FIR No.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>32 dated February 2, 2024, under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code. During the investigation, police arrested the accused from the crime scene and also recovered the murder weapon.
Additional Sessions Judge-IV, Aftab Iqbal, after hearing arguments from both the prosecution and defense, awarded life imprisonment to the accused along with a fine of Rs500,000. In case of non-payment, the convict will have to undergo an additional six months of simple imprisonment.
The court also awarded one month imprisonment and a fine to the accused for possessing illegal weapons.
The prosecution was represented by Shad Muhammad Khan, while Yasir Mustafa appeared on behalf of the defense.
