RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) A court on Wednesday sentenced a drug supplier to nine years in prison and imposed a fine of Rs 80,000 in a narcotics case.
According to a Rawalpindi Police spokesperson, the convict, identified as Aliyan alias Ali, was arrested by Wah Cantt Police in May 2025 after 1.83 kilograms of hashish was recovered from his possession.
The sentence was awarded based on strong evidence and effective prosecution of the case.
Senior police officials, including the Senior Superintendent of Police (Investigation) and legal teams under City Police Officer
Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani, were commended for securing the conviction.
Police said efforts were underway to eradicate drug trafficking and ensure strict action against those involved in the trade.
