Man shot dead in market while shopping with family

A young man was shot at and killed in the presence of his family while he was present outside a famous shopping mall at Chungi No 9 in the city last Tuesday night, police said on Wednesday

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Apr, 2026) A young man was shot at and killed in the presence of his family while he was present outside a famous shopping mall at Chungi No 9 in the city last Tuesday night, police said on Wednesday.

Complainant Muhammad Akram told Gulgasht police that he along with his sons Ahmad Fareed, Azhar Fareed, Tahir Fareed and Tahir's wife Urooj were present near the shopping mall for shopping for the wedding of his son Mazhar Fareed that was planned for Apr 13. He said, Urooj was walking ahead of her husband Tahir while they were behind.

In the meantime, three accused, two ageing 20-25 and one 30-35, armed with pistol, reached there and one of them fired straight at the head of Tahir from behind. Tahir fell down immediately as the bullet pierced through his head. He was rushed to hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

Complainant said, their family had enmity with the family of one Muhammad Imran and a litigation was ongoing in a murder case. He alleged that Imran and others had colluded, planned and executed the killing of his son.

Police have registered FIR and started investigations.
