Mardan police arrest murderer within six hours of crime

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Apr, 2026) Police in Mardan have arrested an accused involved in the murder of a student within just six hours of the incident on Tuesday.

According to police, the accused, identified as Maaz, was taken into custody along with the murder weapon by the Rustam Police Station during a swift action.

The incident occurred in Jaffarabad Machhi area, where the suspect allegedly opened fire and killed a student named Haroon, son of Riaz Gul.

Police said the motive behind the murder appears to be a dispute over a girl between the accused and the victim. A pistol has been recovered from the suspect’s possession and further investigation is underway.
