ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) Marking the first anniversary of “Marka-e-Haq”, senior Kashmiri advocate and political commentator Pervaiz Shah on 1st anniversary of Marka e Haq victory hailed Pakistan’s military and diplomatic response during last year’s conflict with India, describing it as a “historic victory” that reshaped regional dynamics and revived global attention on the Kashmir dispute.

Speaking in an interview with APP commemorating the anniversary, Mr Shah said the events leading to “Marka-e-Haq” began a “false flag operation” in occupied Kashmir in April last year, following which India launched military aggression against Pakistan under “Operation Sandoor”.

He claimed Pakistan had initially called for an impartial investigation into the incident, but New Delhi instead chose confrontation, believing its military strength, economic size and international image would ensure dominance in the conflict.

“India entered the confrontation with arrogance, but Pakistan responded with unity, faith and strategic clarity,” he said, adding that the retaliatory operation “Bunyan-un-Marsoos” demonstrated Pakistan’s military capability and national resolve.

Mr Shah strongly praised Pakistan’s armed forces and military leadership, particularly Field Marshal Asim Munir, saying the operation had transformed Pakistan’s global image and proved the country’s strength on diplomatic and military fronts.

“The commitment made by the Field Marshal is fulfilled in both letter and spirit. ‘Bunyan-un-Marsoos’ was not merely a military response but a message of unity and faith rooted in the teachings of the Holy Quran,” he said.

The Kashmiri advocate claimed the conflict politically and diplomatically isolated India while enhancing Pakistan’s stature as a serious regional power.

Referring to statements by Donald Trump and other international figures, he argued that global powers had openly acknowledged the consequences faced by India during the escalation.

Advocate Shah further said the events surrounding “Marka-e-Haq” disproved India’s claim that Kashmiris had distanced themselves from Pakistan or abandoned their struggle for self-determination.

“Indian media itself witnessed the public sentiment in occupied Kashmir. Kashmiris did not speak against Pakistan despite intense pressure and restrictions,” he said, adding that the developments had reignited hope among Kashmiris regarding the future of the dispute.

He also praised the unity displayed by Pakistan’s political parties, civil society and citizens during the confrontation, saying national solidarity had played a decisive role in what he called a “defining moment” in the country’s history.

Calling for annual observance of the victory, Mr Shah said “Marka-e-Haq” had restored Pakistan’s rightful standing in the international community and opened renewed space for meaningful discussion on Kashmir at the global level.

“Kashmiris believe Pakistan stood firm not only for its sovereignty but also for the aspirations of the Kashmiri people,” he added.
