ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) Marking the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has hailed Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos as a defining moment in Pakistan’s modern military history, saying that its success not only neutralized imminent threats but also reaffirmed Pakistan’s unmatched defensive preparedness.
In an exclusive interview with APP, the minister said the operation demonstrated Pakistan’s resolve to safeguard its sovereignty while maintaining a principled commitment to peace.
“Pakistan has never desired war, but when challenged, our response is decisive and proportionate,” he said, adding that Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos effectively thwarted hostile designs and exposed the limitations of the adversary’s strategy.
Reflecting on the events of May 2025, he said the Pakistan Armed Forces delivered a coordinated and forceful response across multiple fronts.
He added that the Pakistan Army compelled opposing forces to vacate several strategically important checkposts, significantly altering the tactical landscape in Pakistan’s favor.
He also paid tribute to the Pakistan Air Force, whose “Shaheens,” he said, carried out precision strikes that destroyed some of the adversary’s most advanced and costly aerial assets. These actions, he added, stand as a testament to the country’s growing technological edge and operational excellence.
The minister said that India had attempted a false flag operation in Pahalgam to create a pretext for aggression, but the plan was “decisively foiled” through timely intelligence and the execution of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.
Describing Marka-e-Haq as a historic chapter, the minister asserted that Pakistan successfully repelled the enemy’s ambitions and imposed a strategic deterrence that continues to shape regional dynamics. “The adversary is now forced to reassess its posture. Despite rhetoric and threats, there is a visible reluctance rooted in the realization that Pakistan cannot be coerced,” he remarked.
He further added that the professionalism and discipline exhibited by Pakistan’s armed forces during the conflict earned widespread international acknowledgment, reinforcing the country’s reputation as a responsible yet capable military power.
Paying tribute to the national leadership, Dr Tariq credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their “clear vision and decisive leadership,” which he believed played a pivotal role in securing success during Marka-e-Haq.
Warning against any future aggression, the minister said Pakistan remained vigilant and fully prepared. “Any attempt to impose war will be met with a response as forceful and crushing as Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos,” he remarked.
