Martyred constable laid to rest with full state honors

TANK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Mar, 2026) The funeral prayers of a police constable, who was abducted and later martyred by militants, were offered with

full state honors at the Police Lines in Tank on Wednesday.

According to officials, the constable, who was posted at Gomal Police Station, had gone home on Eid leave when

he was kidnapped by unidentified motorcycle riders from Sheikh Attar Adda. His body was later found near a canal

in the village of Sheikh Sultan. The police teams rushed to the scene, cordoned off the area, and launched a search operation. The body was subsequently shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Tank.

A large number of police officials, administrative officers, and local residents attended the funeral.

Among those

present were Acting DPO/SP Investigation Khalid Mahmood, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jamshed Alam,

DSP City Imran Khattak, and Assistant Commissioner Naimatullah Kundi.

The officers laid floral wreaths on the martyr’s coffin, while a police contingent presented a guard of honor.

Special prayers were offered for the elevation of the martyr’s ranks, peace in the region, and the security

of the country.

Police authorities termed the incident a cowardly act and vowed to bring culprits to justice, stating that efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrators at the earliest.
