Marwat moves court seeking restoration of Ali Amin Gandapur as KP CM

The petition submitted that Marwat argued that Gandapur’s resignation from the office of chief minister was taken under pressure and therefore holds no legal standing.

He maintained that the resignation should be declared invalid and unconstitutional.

Marwat further contended that the subsequent notification regarding Gandapur’s removal and the appointment of Sohail Afridi as chief minister was also unlawful.

He requested the court to annul all related decisions and restore Gandapur to his former position.

In his plea, Marwat also claimed that the resignation was made under directives issued by a “convicted and disqualified individual,” without directly naming anyone.

He prayed the court to set aside all actions taken following the change in leadership.

Ali Amin Gandapur, however, distanced himself from the petition, stating that he has no involvement in any legal proceedings related to the matter.

He said he resigned in accordance with instructions issued by PTI leadership at the time.

Reacting to the development, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan rejected the petition, terming it an attempt to create internal division within the party.

He said the decision to appoint Sohail Afridi as chief minister was made with the approval of the party leadership and cannot be reversed.
