SWAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Mar, 2026) In a remarkable display of arrangements, police across Malakand Division, particularly in the scenic Swat Valley, successfully ensured comprehensive security for tourists during Eid al-Fitr, while maintaining smooth traffic flow throughout the festive period, officials said on Tuesday.

Regional Police Officer Fida Hussain, in a conversation at his office, stated that millions of tourists visited the valley and its adjoining attractions, including Malam Jabba and Kalam Valley, where adequate and well-organized security arrangements had been put in place. He noted that authorities acted proactively to facilitate visitors.

“Our aim is to provide essential facilities and ensure public safety,” he said, adding that traffic police performed commendably, therefore ensuring uninterrupted vehicular movement despite the heavy influx during the holidays.

According to the Upper Swat Development Authority, over 173,432 tourists visited the valley in four days, moreover a significant number of vehicles entered the region. Officials further revealed that 25 foreign tourists, including visitors from China and Philippines, were also present, reflecting the area’s growing appeal.

The RPO added that facilitation centres had been established for tourists alongside robust security measures, consequently enhancing the region’s global image. He emphasized that the surge in tourism has further strengthened Swat’s reputation as a premier tourist destination.
