LARKANA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jun, 2026) A session of the Municipal Corporation was convened on Saturday under the chairmanship of Mayor Advocate Anwar Ali Luhur. During this meeting, the annual budget for the fiscal year 2026–27 was unanimously approved by all members.
Presenting the budget before the house, Chairman of the Finance Committee, Muhammad Qasim Brohi, reported a total outlay of Rs. 4,065,404,393 (Four billion, sixty-five million, four hundred four thousand, three hundred and ninety-three). Notably, the budget reflects a healthy net surplus of Rs. 40,277,250 (Forty million, two hundred seventy-seven thousand, two hundred and fifty).

Following the detailed presentation, all council members raised their hands in favor of the budget, formally approving it for the upcoming financial year.
Addressing the session, Mayor Anwar Ali Luhur expressed his commitment to transforming Larkana into a more beautiful and cleaner city.
He said, "Under the clear directives of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the party's senior leadership, sanitation efforts have significantly improved, alongside ongoing lighting and road infrastructure projects. We are resolved to make Larkana even more pristine and visually appealing."
He further confirmed that all pending salaries and pension arrears for municipal employees have been fully cleared. The Mayor pledged to address remaining administrative shortcomings and urged all corporation members to extend their full cooperation.
Deputy Mayor Muhammad Amin Sheikh also spoke on the occasion, emphasizing the corporation’s moral and administrative responsibility to provide housing and shelter facilities to municipal staff.
In their concluding remarks, the council members lauded the comprehensive budget presented by the finance committee. They actively shared their constructive suggestions and reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to carrying out maximum developmental work for the betterment and prosperity of Larkana city.
