RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Apr, 2026) Managing Director (MD) of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Rawalpindi, Azizullah Khan, on Monday directed officials to ensure uninterrupted water supply and an effective drainage system, while ordering stricter enforcement of revenue recovery measures.

The directives were issued at a meeting held at the WASA head office, attended by officers and staff from the Water Supply, Sewerage and Drainage (S&D) and Revenue wings. The session reviewed public complaints relating to drainage and billing in detail.

Addressing participants, Khan stressed that essential civic services must be provided at all costs and instructed field officers to remain on the ground and take practical steps to resolve issues promptly.

He warned that negligence in service delivery would not be tolerated and said performance would remain under strict monitoring.

The meeting also examined the status of revenue recovery. Khan ordered officials to make the collection process more effective, directing that notices be issued immediately to defaulters and that connections be disconnected in cases of continued non-payment.

Officials were asked to submit performance reports, while a comprehensive strategy was outlined to address problems in different areas without delay.

The MD reiterated that institutional performance would be further improved, adding that action against defaulters would be taken without discrimination to enhance revenue and strengthen civic services.
