Meeting held in Tharparkar to review maternal, child health situation

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Tharparkar Abdul Haleem Jaghirani, a meeting regarding maternal and child health was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner-I Tharparkar Liaquat Ali Lund at his office.

According to a handout, during the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner reviewed the situation of maternal and child health in Tharparkar and received a detailed briefing from the concerned officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Liaquat Ali Lund emphasized that a healthy environment was essential for a healthy life, adding that such an environment was necessary to ensure the birth of healthy children.

He said that more efforts were required in the field of nutrition in Tharparkar.

He directed the relevant officers to organize effective awareness programs to improve maternal and child health so that the general public could be fully informed on the subject. He stressed the need to conduct maximum awareness activities in rural areas of Tharparkar to raise awareness about proper nutrition and better health for mothers and children.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner-II Tharparkar Prithvi Raj, District Health Officer Dr. Lekhraj Sarangani and other concerned officials.
