Meeting held to review Eid-ul-Azha security arrangements in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2026) On the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani, a meeting was held at Police Lines Headquarters to review security arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha.

The meeting was attended by SSP Operations, SSP Investigation, SP Security, divisional SPs, SDPOs, and other police officials. Members of the Peace Committee, religious scholars and traders’ associations also participated.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Operations said that effective arrangements would be ensured during Eid-ul-Azha through close coordination among the police, district administration, and civil society.

He emphasized that religious scholars, community elders, and traders’ bodies play a vital role in maintaining exemplary peace in the city.

He further stated that the police would ensure comprehensive security measures across the city and highlighted the importance of continued public cooperation.

SSP Investigation said that integrated security arrangements were being implemented at mosques, imambargahs, and other sensitive and important public places throughout the city.

The participants were also informed that implementation of the rules and regulations issued by the Punjab government would be strictly ensured during Eid-ul-Azha.

The meeting concluded with prayers for the peace, security, and prosperity of the country.
