PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Mar, 2026) An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah here on Tuesday to review progress on the good governance reform agenda aimed at improving public service delivery.
The meeting was informed that, on the directives of the Chief Minister, all departments are actively implementing the good governance agenda in an effective manner.
To promote tourism and improve the communication network, work on Swat Motorway Phase-II has formally commenced, and its inauguration is expected soon.
The meeting was informed that master planning for major tourist destinations including Galiyat, Kumrat, Kalam, and Kalash is underway. Officials stated that this planning will ensure environmental protection, promote sustainable tourism, and help prevent unplanned construction in these areas.
The meeting was also informed that the New General Bus Stand project in Peshawar is in its final stages of completion. Upon completion, all bus terminals in the city will be shifted to the new facility, which will significantly help ease traffic congestion.
In the health sector, recruitment of medical officers has been initiated in districts facing a shortage of doctors. A total of 2,400 medical officers are being hired to ensure uninterrupted provision of healthcare services to the public.
The Chief Secretary directed the concerned authorities to further expedite the pace of implementation on all projects and ensure timely completion of public welfare initiatives.
