Meeting to ensure reduction in transport fares held

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry, Secretary Regional Transport Authority Malik Muhammad Tahir held an urgent meeting with transporters Aim to detailed review of the fares was taken in the meeting and a 10 to 15 percent reduction in fares was agreed upon through mutual consultation.

The Secretary RTA said that the new fare has been implemented immediately.

He said that special teams have been formed to ensure the implementation of the new fare, which will check the fares on different routes.

He added that providing relief to the public is the top priority of the district administration, so any violation will not be tolerated.

Strict legal action will be taken against violators, while immediate action will be taken against those who overcharge passengers.
