HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Apr, 2026) Medical Superintendent of Sir Cowasji Institute of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Dr. Nisar Ahmed Sohu, along with Senior Woman Medical Officer and CBT Therapist, Dr. Saba Bashir, emphasized that health is not merely the absence of disease, but is closely linked to a person’s thoughts, emotions, and overall balance in daily life.
They expressed these views while addressing a seminar organized by Sir Cowasji Jehangir Institute of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Hyder Ali Qazi Auditorium on the occasion of World Health Day and World CBT Day.
According to a handout, simple and practical guidance was provided on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other scientifically proven psychological methods.
Experts explained that these approaches can help not only individuals but also entire communities to cope better with difficult situations. Useful tips on self-care, stress reduction, and building resilience in life were also shared.
An awareness walk was organized, in which representatives of civil society, volunteers, doctors, educationists and individuals from various fields participated enthusiastically. The event was jointly organized by the Narcotic and Drug Detoxification Unit and the Department of Public Mental Health and Preventive Psychiatry, aiming to strengthen collective efforts for promoting better mental health in society.
