Middle-aged woman killed, husband injured in road accident

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jul, 2026) A middle-aged woman was killed, while her husband sustained injuries after a speeding Mazda truck hit their motorcycle from behind in Multan, police and rescuers said on Friday.

The deceased was identified as 46-year-old Shagufta Akhtar, while her husband, 48-year-old Akhtar Hussain, was injured in the accident.

The couple had just left their home when the truck rammed into their motorcycle, throwing the woman several feet away. She died on the spot, while her husband suffered injuries.

Rescue officials shifted both victims to Nishtar Hospital.

Police said the truck driver fled the scene after the accident. A case has been registered against the unidentified driver. Further investigation was underway.
